The trio walked for what seemed like nearly a mile before they came to the end of a long line. All the people in the line looked like common everyday people with occupations ranging from homeless, to large corporation CEO's and politians.
    "Not far now." Sharpe said.

"Not far to what?" Kelly asked, trying to take it all in. She began to wish she'd taken a pen and note pad with her to write all this down.

"The gate into Hell." Sharpe said.

"How are we gonna find her in all of this?" Christine asked. "There's so many souls here."

"It's actually going to be much easier than you'd think." Sharpe said, "Take a look at our friend Kelly here." Sharpe turned to the dark haired girl lingering in the back, trying to take in everything.

It was a moment before Kelly realized they were looking at her. This was all so facinating, the red sky, the constant winds, and now the long line of condemned souls waiting to find out their punishment. She looked from Sharpe to Christine, and back, "What?"

"See it?" Sharpe asked referring to the glow Kelly had around her.

"She's alive." Sharpe said, "Look at the rest of these poor souls, they have a greyish din to them. But Kelly.. she's alive, so she glows down here." Sharpe turned and continued to lead them down over the hill, which is when they saw it.
It looked like the opening to any underground traffic tunnel, it even had a directional sign above it, but this one didn't display road directions... this one's message was much worse:
"This way to the city of Pain
    Thru here ceaseless agony awaits
All lost souls must enter here!
Justice inspired God to make this
It was built with three tools:
    Omnipotence,Wisdom, and Love
When only eternal things were made
And it too, shall remain immortal
ABANDON ALL HOPE YE WHO ENTER HERE!"

Kelly gasped, "It is true!" What she wouldn't give for a camera! She couldn't believe it!

"Especially when you see what's inside." Sharpe said as they entered the tunnel, which led straight down into the first ring of Hell.
The red sky was gone now, leaving only the illumination from the street-lights, but that was a faded orangish color. As the three entered into the first level they saw many people just sitting around looking rather forlorn, but otherwise having no real punishment being inflicted upon them.

Kelly looked around, "This isn't so bad. They just look... bummed out."

"The virtuously unbaptized." Sharpe explained, "They've done nothing wrong. Their only crime was out of their control."

"No it doesn't." Sharpe said, "All these souls were born before the time of Christ, and so they had no way of knowing of God. And for that they are left in limbo for eternity."

"That fuckin' blows." Kelly said sighing and looking around. Suddenly Kelly took a step and a splash was heard. Kelly looked down as the black water dripped off her shoe, "EW!" She looked up, "What the hell is this?!"

"The Acheron River." Sharpe said, "This is not going to be easy. Stay with me and keep your mouth shut." Sharpe began to splash the water before standing up as an old, shirivled man in a black cloak came close and pulled up, "We wish to go across the river."

    "A penny." The man croaked.

Sharpe pulled out three coins from his pocket and handed them to the boatman, "Get in." he said to the others.

As the three got into the boat, the Man began to start throwing a fit, "She's alive! I will not take her! She is living, get out! Get out you do not belong here!"

Sharpe's eyes faded to the deep blue when he revealed what he really was. His fangs grew into place and his hand landed on the man's collar, "Row! Or I throw you to them." Sharpe pointed to the souls on the other side, none of whom were fans of the boat man.

"Fine! But she doesn't belong here! This will not end well." THe man pushed off with his oar and the boat slipped through the water to the other side. There was no going back now.

The boat slopped through the River. Sharpe smiled despite the stench drifting up from the lower circles of Hell. Listening to Christine snap back at the boatman, made him smile warmly at her. She was starting to get her old spunk back.

The boat came to a stop on the opposite shore and Kelly shivered as the winds picked up, "Where's that coming from?"

"It's the winds that blow the convicts of the 2nd level of Hell around for eternity." Sharpe responded.

"What?" Kelly looked up seeing all the souls wrapped with their lovers. They'd entered the circle of the lustful. They all moaned, but they were far from moans one might hear from an intimate couple. Quite the oppostie, they were moans of pain and agony.

"Come on, we need to get going." Sharpe said walking against the brutal wind.

"Justice darling." Sharpe replied opening his copy of Dante's Inferno. He studied it for several moments before closing it, "Come along."

Kelly followed, but couldn't stop from getting hit by people as they were blown around.

Sharpe led them down a winding stair case to a sespool of terribally overweight people, who were left to sit about in their own squallor and fecis.

"What the fuck?!" Kelly asked as she covered her nose, "This is fucking nasty! What is this?!"

"The third level of Hell...Gluttony." Sharpe explained, "These people were too greedy in their past lives, and now they're damned to experience the full grotesqueness of their greed and laziness."

"Fuckin' A!" Kelly followed suit. She stepped gingerly around people and various piles of human excriment and rotting food.

Sharpe led them a bit further through the mess that was the 3rd Level of Hell, before they decended another set of stairs. A group of insects could be heard buzzing. Sharpe looked around the corner as a group of people, pushing large rocks around being constantly assulted by insects, "Christine, keep Kelly close by! We're immune, but she may not be."

"WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE?!" Kelly screamed, "EW EW! I hate bugs!"

"We're almost there." Sharpe said, "Just a little bit further."

Kelly's screams had turned to an inaudible bunch of long moans and cries. She was so terrified she was losing her grip on her sanity.

Sharpe led them down a ladder that led to a riverbank. The river was full of people. They were burried up to their necks in the grimy water, and all were shouting swears, and filth at eachother and those who prevented them from escaping their watery damnation.
