Before Sharpe could answer a Ceador let out a gut-wrentching scream and charged, with spear pointed down towards the trio. Sharpe tossed the book to Christine and prepared to recieve the creatures's charge. As the creature closed on him Sharpe stepped to the side, and grabbed the animal's spear. He lifted him up, using the animal's momentum against him and fliped him into the river. The souls there took care of the rest.
Another had caught on and as Sharpe spun out of that move he slammed the spear-head into the creature's neck. The creature stood there, limp for a minute as blood bubbled out of it's throat. Sharpe pulled the spear out and kicked the animal backwards before he prepared to square off against three others.

Sharpe never took his eyes off the ceadors coming towards them, "Just stay out of my way. Protect Kelly." He said in a low tone. He was focused. It had been a long time since he'd been in a fight but he'd been around long enough to remember how to do it.
Soon the Minateaur took notice and screamed at his creaturees to get back to work. Sharpe lowered his spear.
"What do you want Vampire?" The Minateaur demanded in a low voice.
"We seek passage to the eighth level." Sharpe said, "To rescue a friend that Illyria has captured.
The minateaur sneared a moment before laughing, "And you bring a live Person with you?"
"Yes. She is powerful." Sharpe said.
The minateaur paused again as though thinking or trying to understand what Sharpe was telling him. Finally he laughed again, "I shall let you pass. I never liked that immature little brat anyway! I'll find it amusing that her plans go arye!"
Sharpe bowed slightly, "Thank you." HE turned to the girls, "Let's move."

"True." Sharpe said as he led them across the small rock pathway over the bloody river, "But you haven't even begun to reach your potential." He led them into a wood. All the trees were bare and were being constantly picked apart by Harpie birds.
Kelly watched as a bird picked off a twig and the tree bled. As it did she could have sworn she heard it talk or moan. She looked at Christine, she feared she was losing her mind again!

Sharpe ignored the comment as they continued through the 2nd circle of the 7th Level, "Don't touch the trees." What Christine didn't understand and what Sharpe didn't have leave to tell her at this particular moment, was that the more she used her powers as a Vampire, the farther she fell from God and the more she became like the creatures who lived here. He understood that she would need to be close to God if she were to have any chance at getting her wings back.

Christine grew annoyed so she turned her mind to Sara. She pushed all of her focus on finding her and getting her home safely.

Sharpe walked to the edge of the trees and waited for the others. He looked back, impressed that his blessing had lasted this long, but it was the next levels that worried him. He looked out at the storm before him. They were those who were violent against God, or nature. Three catagories inhabited these lands. One were forced to lay down and take the rain of firey sand that rained from the skies above, the second were forced to remain seated, while the third just wandered around aimlessly in small clusters.
Kelly walked up beside Sharpe, "Oh my God! What's that?" Her voice was shakey as one who had seen far too much for her mind to process.

Sharpe swore under his breath. He looked around before backing back into the trees away from the burning sand. He looked at her and sighed, "She'll make it to Level Eight. We'll... We'll do it there." He hated the idea, but Christine was right, there was nothing he could do about it. It had to be done.
"Do.. do what?!" She looked up at Christine, suddenly panic stricken. The blessing was wearing off.
Sharpe looked back at the sand before them, "We need to move quickly. There's a waterfall on the far side that will take us down to the Eigth level."

"Alright. Let's move!" Sharpe said, "Quickly!" With that he took off running. The sand falling from the sky left burn marks on his clothes and by the time he reached the waterfall which led down the cliffs to the eighth circle he looked back at Christine and Kelly.
Kelly was losing it. The sand was the beginning of the end and then when she saw the jump her own fears came back to clobber her. She sat down, letting the sand burn her skin and clothes, refusing to move.
Sharpe looked at Christine and sighed before picking Kelly up, grabbing Christine's hand and leaping down the waterfall to land at the bottom with a loud splash.

"She's fine." Sharpe said pulling Kelly along, "I sheilded her from the impact on purpose. We heal, she won't." Sharpe pulled Kelly ashore and looked around quickly. Everywhere there were lines, long, nearly endless lines of people marching one way and some were marching others, all being whipped by deamons as they moved. Sharpe looked around, "Ah yes the Melebolge! Such a wonderful place." The sarcasm evidently clear in his voice.
"Marching, marching, all along the way." Kelly half mumbled, her mind slipping more and more.
Sharpe looked at Christine who was staring at him intently and sighed. He leaned down and latched onto Kelly's neck, feeling the sweet rush of blood enter his system. His eyes began to glow as he drained the poor girl on the side of the pool. Once he was sure that Kelly was near death he cut his wrist and held it over her mouth letting his blood drip in.
Kelly looked up and weakly grabbed a hold of Sharpe's arm. As the blood entered her she felt a sweet peace come over her. Her organs began to beat again, stronger than ever and as they did her grip on his arm tightened. She felt his heartbeat in hers, and as Sharpe began to pull his arm away she began to feel her body go into convultions. Pain everywhere. She looked at Christine for a moment before her head was snapped back in another direction. Slowly her body came to a rest and it looked as though she'd all but died, but as she lay there a strange light came to her eyes, and her teeth grew into place. She sat up and beheld the world around her. No longer did the evil seeping from this world seem to bother her and as she stood up she smiled looking around.

"We're almost there." Sharpe said, "Two more circles." Sharpe led them to the next bridge. Smoke could be seen rising in the distance and it mixed with the smell of the fecis that littered the ground of the 2nd circle. Sharpe led them over the bridge and they entered the rhelm of the Simmonists; those who sold religious offices.
